"Within The First Month I Was Able To Get Our Highest Paying Client"

This is one of the many wins that Stephen has got after joining Reza's mastermind programme.

What inspired you to join the Mastermind programme?

Frustration was probably the main emotion I was feeling. Working in practice can be a demanding profession—with various client queries, a heavy workload, likely too many hours, and countless ideas I wanted to implement. But I was really overwhelmed with where to even start. Those were the key reasons that led me to reach out to Reza.

Why did you decide to work with Reza Specifically?

When I reached out to Reza, I had been following his content for a while. Everything he shared made practical sense. Having worked as an accountant for 10 to 15 years, I was all too familiar with the frustrations that come with running a practice. Reza’s message resonated with me—he demonstrated a real understanding of the challenges that practice owners face. You could see from his background that he owns a practice himself and has overcome these issues firsthand.

I wanted to work with someone who truly understood our industry and had already shown, through his content, that he had practical solutions that could be implemented quickly.

What are some of the specific benefits and wins that you had after joining?

After joining, we had a really useful 90-minute session with Reza to get some mental clarity moving forward. We focused on setting goals, discussing the issues I was facing, and just offloading a lot of the problems I had in the practice. Together, we created a systematic approach to tackle these challenges, organizing them under the 4Ps: Pricing, Processes, People, and Positioning.

I was able to see quick wins. For example, in one session, Reza provided information on pricing for virtual finance office (VFO) services, along with a brochure. Within a week of that session, I won a £1,900-a-month client for VFO services—our first client for that service. Before, we offered similar services but didn’t price them correctly or communicate the value, and we lacked a brochure to show clients our expertise.

Another great change was implementing paid consultations through Calendly. Since we specialize in the property sector, I was flooded with discovery calls, client queries, tax returns, and more. Calendly allowed us to set up a systematic approach for paid consultations, which has been beneficial in two ways: we now get paid for advice outside our usual scope, and it’s communicated to clients automatically. I no longer have to repeat on every call that there’s a fee—they can see it themselves. It also filters out time-wasters, saving me time moving forward.

These two changes—the VFO service win and the paid consultations through Calendly—have been fantastic improvements and have really moved us forward.

What strategic benefit did you get from having one-to-one sessions?

The mastermind sessions have been fantastic. There’s so much content available in Reza’s library, and right now, I’m working through the Power Positioning course. It’s been invaluable to have a one-on-one session with Reza every month—a chance to run ideas past him. You often reach a point where you wonder, Will this work? Will that work? How will someone interpret this? Having that sounding board every month is incredibly helpful for working through obstacles.

As a small practice owner, it can be a lonely place; you can’t really discuss strategic direction with employees. It’s a valuable resource to have someone to talk to, someone who can help you work through challenges, keep you on track, and move forward with confidence.

What would you say to an accountant thinking of joining the mastermind programme?

I would say, definitely sign up for the Mastermind sessions—it’s been a fantastic investment for me. Within the first month, it had already paid for itself. I was able to secure our highest-paying client at £1,900 per month using a resource from the program that I barely needed to modify. I just put it together, sent it out, and it worked.

Investing in guidance from someone who has already navigated the challenges you’re facing will save you far more time and money in the long run than trying to figure it out on your own. I highly recommend it to accounting practice owners who want to develop their business, gain mental clarity, and focus on the key areas—the 4Ps—over the long term. It’s a structured way to prioritize what really matters.

To see you how you can take your practice to the next level and get results like Stephen, book a call with me and let's talk.

Wishing you all the best on your journey!
