Hey, What’s The Big Idea?

People often ask me why I do what I do?

Why do I share all my secrets and strategies with other accountants?

Am I not creating more competition for myself in the future?

And I chuckle because I don’t see it that way – I never did.

I see it more as a way of giving back to society.  

And that’s because I’ve been there.

You see, I know what it feels to be where you are currently.

 
 

I’ve made all the mistakes

When I first bought into my firm, back in 2008, I had all of the big dreams and ambitions that I'm sure you do right now.

I wanted to build a shiny onboarding process that WOW'd new clients.

I wanted to be able to win clients on social media and not just rely on referrals.

I wanted to be able to sell high-value advisory services to clients successfully.

But I didn't know how.

In the years that I studied accounting and then worked at PwC (before acquiring my firm), I'd learned how to become a great accountant.

But things like systems, marketing, sales, pricing - it was like trying to learn a foreign language while holding down a full-time job and spending time with my family.

It felt impossible.

And so, I struggled daily trying to figure it out by myself. 

I made a lot of costly mistakes… lost prospects I should have closed… charged for pennies… presented my services awfully. 

Mistakes that cost me time and resources I couldn’t get back. 

I just knew something had to change – and change fast. 

And so, I set out to shortcut my learnings by working with coaches and mentors.  

What this meant was that instead of spending the next 1, 3, or even five years trying to figure out how to do what I wanted to, I could get the knowledge, tools, and resources I needed to do it in a fraction of the time. 

And it's because of the value of this that I set up my monthly mentoring program. 

To provide other small firm owners with everything they need to achieve their goals.

What is it all about?

The monthly mentoring program is your go-to hub for all of the knowledge, tools, and resources you need to achieve what you want to achieve. 

We meet up online once a month for 90 minutes, where we'll do a deep dive training on a particular topic. Previous sessions have included "how to price and deliver advisory services."

Who should enrol in it?

This program is for small firm owners (and larger ones if you're interested in the content) that want to shortcut the time it takes to acquire the knowledge to do these things successfully. 

It's for ambitious people and understands the benefits of working with a mentor to develop understanding.

Who should not go for it?

There are no criteria for joining (but if you have recently started, please make sure that you can afford it and don't put yourself under any financial strain). 

If you are more of a talker than a doer, and implementation isn't your strong point, then this might not be for you. It is strictly knowledge sharing.
