The power of a mastermind group

May 30, 2022

Do you know who came up with the concept of Mastermind groups that we use today?  It was Napoleon Hill back in 1928 - author of Think & Grow Rich and The Law of Success. Hill defined the “Master Mind” as a “co-ordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony between two or more people, for the attainment of definite purpose” In his research, Hill surveyed 100 American millionaires over a 20 year period among them many self made giants such as Henry Ford, J.P. Morgan, Alexander Graham Bell, John D Rockefeller and Thomas Edison. Hill found from his conversations with these giants that none of them achieved success alone. They combined forces with like minded entrepreneurs to share best practices, overcome challenges and hold each accountable.

That led him to conclude the following: “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible, intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind”

It’s lonely being in business. Particularly when you’re the #accountant and supposed to have all the answers. It’s hard to talk to friends and family about the challenges we face. They won’t always get it and we don’t really want to give the impression that we’re struggling

That’s what a Mastermind group is for

  • To give you that safe space to share your struggles, challenges and see that you’re not the only one going through this.
  • It’s also a space for you to share your wins which is equally important - without feeling that you’re bragging or blowing your own trumpet.

As the famous proverb says - if you want to fast go alone, if you want to far go together. Have a listen to what Sarah Jones has to say about hers.
