Don’t compare your life to someone’s highlight reel..

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the highlight reel of others' lives on social media. We often find ourselves comparing our own lives to the curated versions of others', and it's not uncommon to feel inadequate or like we're not measuring up. But, as the saying goes, "Don't compare your life to someone's highlight reel."

Instead of comparing ourselves to others, we should take inspiration from them. Just a few years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. But then I realized that I didn't know what I didn't know. So, I set out on a journey of learning and growth, seeking out the wisdom of those who had gone before me, and studying under some of the best minds in the world in areas like pricing, sales, marketing, and leadership.

As a result of my learning and applying what I had learned, I was able to achieve success in my business. My practice now runs without me and I am now fortunate enough to have found my passion in helping other accountants to do the same. I help them break through limiting beliefs and give them the confidence they need to build a practice that gives them time and financial freedom.

It's no shame to seek help and mentorship. In fact, I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't reached out and worked with a mentor. I continue to learn and grow every day, and that's how we all should be approaching our own personal and professional development.

As Jim Rohn said, "Formal education will make you a living, self-education will make you a fortune." So, how do you invest in yourself? Do you have a mentor or coach? Do you set aside time for reading or listening to podcasts? These are all great ways to continue learning and growing.

To conclude, we should not compare ourselves to others, we should take inspiration from them. By learning and applying what we learn, we can achieve success in our own lives. And remember, it's never too late to seek help and mentorship, as they are key to growth.
