To outsource or not to outsource - that is the question

Accountants, what are your views on outsourcing? 

Over the last few years with technology changing the way that we work, outsourcing has become very popular amongst accountants, and many in my network outsource compliance work to places like India 🇮🇳, Pakistan 🇵🇰 and the Philippines 🇵🇭 successfully.

Others however, have vowed never do to it and will ensure it’s always done in house

Whilst outsourcers have had a particularly bad rep (not least because of some of the tactics used by some to approach accountants on Linkedin) there are some quality outfits who are delivering a valuable and cost effective service to UK accountants.

Even more valuable given the challenge that many accountants have of recruiting the right calibre of talent.

Given remote working and freelance usage, should it matter whether the work is done in Manchester or Mumbai (so long as you are ultimately responsible to the client)?

And I’m sure there are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches.
